Artist Statement:

Inspired by the works of artists Hans Hoffman and Mark Rothko, Nathan‚s paintings are simple, geometric arrangements set against a backdrop of richly textured surfaces and dynamic brushstrokes. Meant to express the eternal conflict between order and chaos, structure and formlessness, Nathan's paintings are a journey into the complexities of elemental shape and balance.

Artist Bio:

Nathan Marshall grew up in Brooklyn, New York. The son of artist parents, Nathan began painting when he was a teenager. After graduating from Cornell University with a minor in documentary filmmaking, Nathan received a Master of Fine Arts from UCLA in 2005.

Presently, Nathan works as a filmmaker and screenwriter, and is a full-time professor at American Intercontinental University, Los Angeles. This is Nathan‚s first solo show.
